“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon & Caelan: exploring the world together.

Before the 9 hour drive to Eden, where we made a pit stop for the night, the four of us visited Brighton Beach. This place has been on my travel list since i was a child, so you could imagine how happy i was when we stepped onto that beach.

This week i haven't chosen individual portraits, for the reason that the boys were inseparable during our stay in Melbourne. I'll be posting our whole trip later on in the week, so stay tuned :)

Saxon: He watched in awe, captivated by the beautiful Tiger in front of him.
Caelan: He pet deer, he roared at lions and he giggled at monkeys swinging from trees. The zoo was awesome.

Saxon: The park was covered in leaves and shells, which we brought home to our Fiddle tree collection.
Caelan: Lips chafed and cheeks rosy red, he lay there soaking up as much sun he could get. These warm Winter days are slipping away.

Saxon: We drove into the bush on a dirt track and found a lovely secluded lake, perfect for when Summer returns. For now, we sit and watch the birds swim.
Caelan: His legs and backside became drenched as he runs into the water looking for his throwing rock.

Running Into the Sunset

We climbed under a gate and ran to the top of a hill. The boys watched the sunset over our town - it was magical.

It has been a while since we done something like this: sneaking into a paddock as the last of the sun faded behind the mountains, running amongst cow poop and prickly grass. It was so much fun.

Saxon: Happy and warm.
Caelan: He loves a good morning hug.

Hello, school holidays! We're excited for slow mornings, milkshake dates and movie days.

I have been quite productive lately, when i'm not doing editing marathons i've been crocheting beanies and scarves for our visit to Melbourne next month. There is something so meditative about crocheting. It's becoming a lovely quiet time, which keeps me calm and mindful.

Happy holidays :)
