“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon: Happy and warm.
Caelan: He loves a good morning hug.

Hello, school holidays! We're excited for slow mornings, milkshake dates and movie days.

I have been quite productive lately, when i'm not doing editing marathons i've been crocheting beanies and scarves for our visit to Melbourne next month. There is something so meditative about crocheting. It's becoming a lovely quiet time, which keeps me calm and mindful.

Happy holidays :)

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon: Sand on his top lip & a shell in his mouth. These warm Winter days have been wonderful for beach play.
Caelan: We crawled under a gate and snuck into a paddock. We raced to the top of a hill and watched the sunset over the small town. (blog post to come)

This week was slow and wonderful. We didn't rush to school, we left the messy house for the warm sun and salty beach breeze, we chased the sunset and laughed til our bellies hurt.

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon: A big play in the park after 5 days of incubation in our home.
Caelan: Letting mummy experiment with double exposure.

I didn't get to play with my new camera and lens as much as i would have loved to this week. I picked up a horrible spew bug paired with migraines & muscle ache, my energy levels are still low and I've spent my free time catching up on house work & the ginormous pile of washing that grew over those days.

We're off to spend the night at the boy's grandfather's house, and hopefully not spread our germs. Have a great weekend :)

Saxon: Playing in his great-grandmother's beautiful sunlit garden.
Caelan: Storming off with so much attitude. Oh, the drama!

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon: I am loving his sweet profile. He is still very much a baby.
Caelan: Real tears. Sometimes life can be tough.

Sleep deprivation is taking it's toll on me once again, so this week i was limited with creativity. Deadlines are looming and the house is a big mess, my baby has instantaneously popped out more teeth which means even less sleep for the both of us. Poor little man. Hopefully next week i can find more motivation.

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Saxon: That bottom lip that he gets from his great-grandfather.
Caelan: The man asked where his mummy was, he pointed and said "dere is!"

It has been a lovely week here on the South Coast. The sun has been beaming and only a hint of a cool breeze. We found out this week that Matthew's enlistment date into the airforce is early September - so we'll be packing and leaving this humble little town in the New Year. My emotions are mixed, ranging from absolutely delighted after waiting far too long and being disappointed time after time with all the specialist appointments, to being excited for this new change. To top off this wonderful week, Matthew and I became God-parents to our beautiful little princess Ivy-Rose.
